Congresswoman Judy Chu to be Keynote Speaker at KAC’s National Convention

Congresswoman Judy Chu is the first Chinese American woman elected to Congress, as well as the only Asian American Member of Congress representing a Southern Californian District. She will be the Keynote Speaker for the 2009 KAC National Convention.

Congresswoman Chu has a long history of distinguished public service. She has served on the Garvey School Board, as Councilmember and as Mayor of the City of Monterey Park, was elected to multiple terms as a California State Assemblymember, and was most recently a Boardmember on the California Board of Equalization.

The Congresswoman was previously a community college professor of psychology for twenty years, and holds a B.A. in mathematics and a Ph.D. in psychology.
